Duke Nukem: The Movie.
Legendary Entertainment is developing a Duke Nukem film after acquiring rights to the video game franchise from Gearbox. Legendary will produce the feature along with Cobra Kai creators.
Duke Nukem is a video game series, created by Apogee Software (now 3D Realms). The first two games in the series, Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem II were 2D platformers for PC, launched respectively in 1991 and 1993. In 1996 the third game was launched, Duke Nukem 3D, published by 3D Realms. It became a huge commercial success and was praised by critics. By 2001, the franchise generated over $1 billion dollars in revenue. In 2010 Gearbox Software acquired the rights of the series and completed the development of Duke Nukem Forever and released it in June the next year.
There is no mention of the plot yet, but it’s safe to assume that it will be about a male action hero (better be FFS), shooting aliens in the city of Los Angeles. In our day and age, I doubt we’ll see the macho man that tips strippers or put his dick in a glory hole. You can also forget Duke getting a blow job from the “Holsom Twins”. Though they should consider a cameo from Amber Heard lol.
Normally, I would be highly skeptical of this movie, I mean, look what happen to Doom and Halo. But since it’s made by the creators of Cobra Kai, I will entertain a glimmer of hope, you never know.
Hollywood, please! Just give us an R-rated movie about a badass dude blowing up alien invaders. We want action, violence, and hot girls in gratuitous nudity scenes. Is that too much to ask? Make this movie like we were in the 80’s again, the cultural era that inspired the games, and made them worthy of a movie.
