Since “The Flash” is now coming out after “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” it’s likely that Ben Affleck will take over for Michael Keaton as Batman.
Ben Affleck will be back as Batman in Aquaman 2, says Jason Momoa.
Jason Momoa posted a picture of himself and Ben Affleck on Instagram.
“REUNITED Bruce and Arthur. love u and miss u Ben WB studio tours just explored the backlot alright. busted on set all great things coming AQUAMAN 2 all my aloha j,” said Momoa.
On his Instagram Story, Momoa also wrote, “Well, it’s not a f’n secret anymore is it? That’s what happens Warner Bros. when you walk out of your set and there’s are fans. Hey, guys. Have a good time. [Laughs] Well, we tried to keep it a secret. [Laughs] Alright. Here we go.”
Ben Affleck is likely going to take Michael Keaton’s place as Batman in Aquaman 2.
The news that Ben Affleck will be back as Batman in Aquaman 2 is both surprising and not that surprising, since it is thought that Ben Affleck’s Batman will replace Michael Keaton’s Batman in Aquaman 2.
The Flash was supposed to come out before Aquaman 2, to resets the timeline, essentially erasing the Zack Snyder movies. Michael Keaton was meant to make his first appearance as Batman in The Flash. Since The Flash is now coming out after Aquaman 2, it wouldn’t make sense for Keaton to make his first appearance in Aquaman 2. So it looks like Ben Affleck will play Batman in Aquaman 2.
Earlier rumors said that Michael Keaton’s Batman would have made two appearances in Aquaman 2: once in the first act to talk to Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry and tell him that something is wrong with the Earth’s core and that it’s likely the Atlanteans are to blame, and again in the epilogue when Aquaman gives a speech.
Again, it looks like the Ben Affleck Batman is doing those scenes now. Momoa’s recent Instagram post suggests that they were just reshot.
The Flash comes out on June 23, 2023. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom comes out on March 17, 2023.
