Reva's Lightsaber

Reva Lightsaber’s Crowdfunding Fails

It turns out Star Wars fans are not at all interested in the Moses Ingram Reva Lightsaber crowdfunded by Hasbro from the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series. Was it really a surprise? Reva is an unlikable character from a bad Star Wars TV show that never should have been made in the first place.

Hasbro has a program where they crowdfund certain products under its Haslab brand. That are considered on the higher-end limited-edition collectibles. For instance, Galactus was backed by over 30k fans and should be released sometime in the next few months.

However, the Reva Lightsaber couldn’t even reach 5000 backers, it only gathered 1,413 backers, 30% of its goal. It’s clear that Star Wars fans aren’t interested. Those Star Wars fans did back projects like Jabba’s Sail Barge and the Razor Crest. On the other hand they didn’t back the Rancor project which reached 8,533 out of 9,000 (less than 500 short).

The fans have voted with their wallet, it’s the only way we can voice our disinterest or our discontent.
